Does anyone know a cat disease named Feline Panleukopenia?
What is the source of the disease? virus from food or air? Is it infectious? How to cure a cat infected by the said disease/sickness? Thanks for the answers. To first answerer, can you explain in plain English what is feline parvo? To Second answerer, can I scrub the infected area with disinfectant such as Dettol?

- It is a viral infection caused from feline parvo. It is primarily spread through contact with an infected cat's bodily fluids, feces, or fleas. Sometimes it is spread through contact with bedding, food dishes, or even by handlers of infected cats. It is infectious to other cats, but it is impossible for a cat to spread Panleukopenia to a dog, as dogs can not contract the virus. There are vaccinations for Panleukopenia as part of the FPV. There is no specific treatment for the panleukopenia virus. The therapy is aimed at providing supportive care and for treating the secondary bacterial infection. These include: # Intravenous fluids # Injectable broad spectrum antibiotics # Withholding food and water # Antiemetic drugs (drugs that control vomiting) # Intravenous nutritional support # Blood transfusions # Recombinant human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) If this is the case, I hope that your cat gets better.
- This Disease is very infectious! It is a severe gastroenteritis and can be fatal if not treated. Its more common in cats that are unvaccinated that are under 1 year of age. It is spread by oral contact, infected faeces, urine and saliva. It causes depression, Fever, diarrhoea, tummy pains, and dehydration. Its treatment involves fluid therapy, and anibiotics. The cat needs to be isolated away from other cats. Disinfectants are available to kill this virus in the environment and all areas when the cat has been need to be scrubbed with this special disnfectant. Hope this helps There is a disinfect called F10 which kills the virus there is also another one called trigene. Dettol wont kill this virus!!. I know that some bleaches like White King kill the virus but the first two are the best. Ask your vet about them as they are not available for sale most of the time but your vet may be able to see you a small portion to make up with water
