where can i find low cost cat care in the New River Valley in Virginia for my cat family?

I only work odd jobs, just barely enough to pay bills. I took in several stray cats when I had a better paying job, but now money is too tight to get medical help when needed. I lost a good friend this morning because I cannot find a vet I can affort. And I may lose another in the next few days. Does anyone know where I can find low cost vet so I can get them the care they need? I have always tried to be a "responsible" pet owner, but now I'm afraid I will lose my family, my friends, my cats because I can't afford vet care. If anyone knows of a good solution, I will always be grateful because my heart is breaking.

1. search around, get out the phone book and start calling vets offices. hopefully for you and your cat's sakes you can find a job soon.
2. About your only hope is to go to a vet and explain your situation. The vet may take the cats from you (permanently) and your problem will be solved. There are no "cheap" vets. Don't adopt any more cats if you are having severe financial problems. Get the ones you have to an animal hospital, tell them your plight, and go from there. You might call your local shelter, although there is a good chance the cats will be euthanized there. Do something for the sake of the cats, contact a vet NOW!
